Laura Villani

The curator of the event is Laura Villani, who was born in Turin. She graduated in Archtecture in Florence and in the US Houston,Texas. A design expert, she has been honoured with the “Clemson Fellowship, Architectural League of New York” for her contribution to the American design. She lives and works in Bologna and in several other cities in Italy and abroad where she creates the furniture and designs that carry her name. Her ranges of products are exhibited in galleries and museums. She collaborates with many Italian companies and with the American stores “J.C.Penney”. She attends to the invention, production and setting design of exhibitions for many international museums or trade-fair events, always offerìng a new perspective and mixing different forms of art on a specific theme. She was appointed for the creation of two international projects for the Art Biennale in Venice, and the Italian section for the “Art Biennale in Montenegro”. The show “Futurdesign”, has been redeveloped as a permanent collecion at the Bologna institution “Ideas Factory”. She has conceived the award “The Prince and the Architect”, she is the Director of the Visual Culture Centre of “Lifestyle.i”t, the Made in Italy bilingual magazine and President of “The Tehmina Durrani Foundation”. She was given the “Design Award”, the “Profilo Donna” career price, the “Woman of the Year” and in 2007 the “Career Price form the Italian Republic Chamber of Deputies”.
