Right from the start the objective of DesignTaleStudio laboratory was experimentation aimed
at discovering unexpected applications for porcelain stoneware while, at the same time, rediscovering
Italian ceramic tradition. This is also the thinking behind our research on mosaics,
an element that is deeply rooted into the most ancient decorative traditions, research able to
offer new perspectives and interpretations with a new outlook on design and aesthetic appeal.
Dts has chosen the creative flair of Massimiliano Adami for this project, continuing the
successful partnership started in 2010 with the Terraviva collection.
Mosaici dAutore is the result of a long path of research on materials and shapes as well as a
study on colours and light, with the aim of completely revolutionizing the concept of a mosaic
as a mere ceramic finishing.
"The project Mosaici d'Autore started as research on the most peculiar features of porcelain stoneware and ceramics in general; our goal was the creation of a mosaic that had nothing at all to do with glass products but that had the energy to become something original. The analysis of the material, of its features, its technical structure, the geometry of the sizes and plasticity are the characteristics that we have chosen to develop this project. A considerable effort, some production phases required a lot of experiments and tests, it has been a hard task but the result has totally convinced us that porcelain stoneware mosaics have something new to say.""

BESIDE
"The idea of Beside started from the observation of ceramic tiles for what they physically are. Handling the tiles, I discovered their universal side with an unexpected, charming hi-tech feature." MASSImiliano Adami
In BESIDE, the research on the shapes and materials of ceramic tiles exalts an aspect that is usually forgotten, their reverse side, whose square pattern becomes a graphic texture to remix the mosaic geometry playing with the colours and decors of ceramic glazes. A creative and personal interpretation of mosaic; a basic yet absolutely innovative idea.
METAL
"Inspiration usually comes from the material; I like challenging materials and trying to tap into what emerges from them to finetune new projects". MASSImiliano Adami
METAL represents the game that the basic, archetypical forms of mosaic, the square and the rectangle, create running randomly in the different installation patterns, outlining elegant and minimal patterns, reinforced by the precious metallic hues of platinum and gold that characterize this project.
